Learn Languages Free — No Download, No Account Required

Langula is a free language-learning app that runs entirely in your browser. Open it, pick a language, and your first lesson starts immediately.

What Langula Teaches You

Langula offers 80 structured lessons per language, from A1 beginner to B2 upper-intermediate. Each lesson introduces vocabulary, grammar patterns, and sentence construction in a clear sequence — so you always know what comes next. Six exercise types per lesson give you varied practice within a single session. The course covers reading, listening, writing, and speaking in every language. You work through levels in order, building on each previous lesson rather than jumping between topics at random.

Free — and Genuinely So

Langula runs on ad revenue. Banner ads appear while you practice, and that exchange keeps the full course free. There is no paywall locking content behind a monthly fee. Many apps use subscription models that cut off your access the moment you stop paying. Langula gives you every lesson in every language at no cost. An optional upgrade removes ads for users who want a cleaner interface, but it is never required to access any lesson or feature.

Start Without Signing Up

Open Langula in any modern browser and begin your first lesson straight away. There is no registration form, no email confirmation, and no account wall. Your progress saves automatically in your browser's local storage. When you want that progress to follow you across devices — from your phone to a desktop — you can create a free account and enable sync. The account is optional at every step. You learn first and decide about the account whenever you want.

No Download — Just Your Browser

Langula works on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge, on both mobile and desktop. There is nothing to install from an app store, no storage space to free up on your phone, and no update prompts to dismiss. The full course, flashcards, and pronunciation tools load in the browser tab you already have open. This also means Langula is available on any device with a browser — a shared computer, a school laptop, or a phone you just picked up.

Pronunciation Practice That Scores Your Speaking

Every lesson includes speaking exercises powered by your browser's built-in speech recognition. Speak a word or sentence aloud, and Langula scores your pronunciation instantly by comparing the recognized text to the target phrase. Audio processing happens on your device and is never sent to a server or stored anywhere. The result is real speaking practice with immediate feedback and no privacy trade-off. The feature works in modern mobile and desktop browsers without any plug-in or external app.

The Leitner System — Flashcards That Match Your Memory

The flashcard section uses a five-box Leitner system. Cards start in box one. Answer correctly and the card moves up to the next box, where it appears less often. Answer incorrectly and it drops back to box one for more frequent review. This adjusts the spacing of each card to how well you actually know it. Words you have mastered take up less of your practice time. Words you find difficult appear more often until they stick. Research on spaced repetition consistently shows this approach improves long-term retention.

FAQ

Which languages does Langula offer?
Langula currently offers 16 languages: English, Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Russian, Polish, Dutch, Swedish, Finnish, Danish, Austrian German, and Standard German. Low German (Plattdeutsch) is also available as a fully free course.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Langula runs entirely in the browser. Open it on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or Edge — on your phone, tablet, or computer — and you can start learning immediately. There is no app to download and no storage space required.
Is pronunciation practice really included for free?
Yes. Speaking exercises and pronunciation scoring are available in every lesson at no cost. The feature uses your browser's built-in speech recognition. Audio is processed on your device and is never stored or transmitted to a server.
How does the Leitner flashcard system work?
There are five boxes. New vocabulary starts in box one. A correct answer moves the card to the next box, where it appears less frequently. An incorrect answer moves it back to box one. Over time, words you know well appear rarely, and words you find difficult appear more often — until you know them too.
Can I sync my progress across devices?
Yes. Create a free account — no payment required — and your lesson progress, certificates, and Leitner flashcard data sync automatically to any device you sign in to. Without an account, progress is stored locally in your browser.
What certificates does Langula issue?
Langula issues a certificate when you complete each CEFR level — A1, A2, B1, and B2. You can download or share the certificate once you finish the final lesson in that level. Certificates are included in the free course and require no upgrade.
